{"id":658,"date":"2013-12-07T16:59:51","date_gmt":"2013-12-07T16:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beachbiscuit.com\/?p=658"},"modified":"2016-10-20T17:26:58","modified_gmt":"2016-10-20T17:26:58","slug":"joys-and-new-adventures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beachbiscuit.com\/joys-and-new-adventures\/","title":{"rendered":"Joys and New Adventures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-659 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/beachbiscuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Joys-and-New-Adventures.jpg\" alt=\"joys-and-new-adventures\" width=\"165\" height=\"300\" \/> \u00a0That is sheer joy.\u00a0 A dog&#8217;s joy at the beach\u00a0is equal to that\u00a0of a child&#8217;s.\u00a0\u00a0And like any parent who finds great happiness in watching their kids frolic and play at the shore, a day at the beach with\u00a0our dogs\u00a0is a very good day indeed.\u00a0 We have two wonderful pups,\u00a0Brewster (shown) and Bella.\u00a0 Six year old siblings,\u00a0best friends, and all-around best-dogs-ever.\u00a0 They adore the beach and relish their time there.\u00a0\u00a0 They wouldn&#8217;t dream of running off, bothering other beach goers, or causing any nuisance.\u00a0 They seem to know that would be the end of\u00a0their off-leash beach freedoms.\u00a0 Instead they chase each other\u00a0back and forth between Mom and Dad, who keep just enough distance between us to make it a good,\u00a0spirited\u00a0run.\u00a0 They jump through the surf, splash in tidal pools, and even help sniff out pretty shells for Mom to add to her collection.\u00a0 These great dogs, and this place we\u00a0love so much,\u00a0are the inspiration behind Beach Beggin&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>We have never been able to quite get &#8216;enough&#8217; of the beach.\u00a0 Our saving grace has been living\u00a0in a big southern city that is a mere four hour drive from\u00a0the lowcountry coast.\u00a0 Over the\u00a0years we have made that trip more\u00a0and more often&#8230; all the while\u00a0becoming less and less interested in\u00a0our hectic, hustling-bustling city.\u00a0 We have found ourselves\u00a0completely and terminally in love with the lowcountry, and\u00a0can find\u00a0no cure.\u00a0 The longing for toes in sand, dogs in surf, coastal breezes,\u00a0palm trees, and a sling-shot&#8217;s distance to beautiful\u00a0historic towns has now grown to a critical level.<\/p>\n<p>And thus we begin a leap of faith and a new adventure.\u00a0 Armed with a house plan, a builder, and a stack of packing boxes, we prepare to move the dogs, our lives, and our little business to the coast we love.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In doing so, we will also have the formidable task of bidding farewell to the city we\u00a0have\u00a0called home for most of our lives.\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0city where\u00a0Beach Beggin&#8217; was created and embraced by our customers and their Beach Biscuit loving dogs.\u00a0 The city where so many of our family and friends live.\u00a0 The city\u00a0that has kept us employed, kept us in traffic, and kept us on our toes. \u00a0As much as we want to go, it won&#8217;t be easy.\u00a0\u00a0I can only\u00a0hope\u00a0our\u00a0unwavering desire to be coastal will get\u00a0us through the stress of home-building and the\u00a0tearful goodbyes when the project is complete and it&#8217;s time to go.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is, there&#8217;s simply no better place on earth to catch up with\u00a0family and friends than at the beach!\u00a0\u00a0We will be\u00a0looking forward to houseguests, oyster roasts, lots of laughter&#8230;and lots of new friends too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0That is sheer joy.\u00a0 A dog&#8217;s joy at the beach\u00a0is equal to that\u00a0of a child&#8217;s.\u00a0\u00a0And like any parent who finds [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[61],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.7 -
